December is usually the busiest time of the year for me. Dec 2007 was no exception; there's the usual large number of talent reviews to go through, business planning and budgeting for the following year, client service year-end reviews, and so on. To make things even crazier last year, I decided to take two weeks off in December, with one week earmarked for relaxing at home, and another week off to southern China's Yunnan province for a stroll around Lijiang and Shangri-La (the town, not the hotel chain.) This meant all the work had to be done in the two weeks that I was actually working, which became increasingly apparent to me was just not possible. Of course I ended up working from home for the time that I was home, so in effect I only had a week off.
What time I spent truly not working though, was magical, and Yunnan province, in southwest China, is one place I will certainly be returning to. And I took lots of photos too.
