YouTube for the thinking masses

I really like this new site BigThink, which features specially filmed videos in a documentary, talking head style based around themes such as Faith & Beliefs, Love & Happiness, Science & Technology, and so on.  You are then encouraged to post your own video response, YT style.

The seed videos are crisp, clean and concise.  I liked:

Richard Branson on the power of bold statements.

Moby on why be a vegan.

Walt Mossberg on on being in this age of technological change.

Philippe Cayla (Chmn & CEO of EuroNews) on whether the media is responsible for the war in Iraq.

Good stuff.

Yellow Journalism.

They never started any wars!  :o

Kind of interesting when one starts thinking about it.  Could they be responsible?  The media does tend to magnify things, such as the recent drastic change in capitol in the housing industry.  It probably wouldn't have been so immediate or drastic had the media not played into repeated statements about the horrifying bubble bursting.

But I digress...
