About Conversationage

Benedetta Craverri's book "The Age of Conversation" described the new art of sociability among seventeenth and eighteenth century French nobility, for which new forms of conversation were central, and spirited exchange of ideas was the norm.

We too, live in a time when traditional modes of communication are challenged daily. New tools for idea exchange are invented and reinvented constantly, new communities forged in the blink of an eye. Reality TV, social media, iPod, Facebook, the new cynicism of the 00's. The rise of China. The fall of print. Random trends or a confluence of threads?

With ten million conversations going on simultaneously, and ten thousand judgments, viewpoints, verdicts, all formed in milliseconds, how is the world of PR impacted? How is the "conversationage" transforming our minds and our lives? How are we finding our own signals for clarity in the white noise?

This blog is a travelogue of one person's search for meaning among all the conversations.
